Porcelain Veneers
What are porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic that bond directly to the front and top surfaces of the teeth. They are an ideal and conservative choice for improving your smile and have become increasingly popular due to their simplicity and versatility. With veneers as an alternative, there is no reason to put up with gaps between your teeth, teeth that are stained, badly shaped or crooked. A veneer placed on top of your teeth can correct these problems simply and quickly.
Will they look like normal teeth?
When bonded to the teeth, the porcelain veneers are virtually undetectable and highly resistant to coffee, tea, or even cigarette stains. For strength and appearance, their resemblance to healthy, white tooth enamel is unsurpassed by other restorative options. Because they are thin, light can shine through them and take on the natural colour of the underlying tooth.
How durable are porcelain veneers?
With proper care, porcelain veneers will brighten your smile for well over a decade.

What do we need to do?
We usually need 4 appoitments:
- diagnosis and treatment planning, impressions for study model/wax up
- final consultation-wax up demonstration - you can see a result before we touch your teeth!!!
- preparation (the teeth are prepared by removing the top layer of enamel to allow space for the porcelain). Final impressions and temporaries (prototypes) - there will be made as close to final result as possible - you will see if you like your new look - then we can give thorough information to technician.
- bonding of veneers
There are usually follow up appointments (maintenance), just to make sure that new veneers are ok.
